Hello, I am Halin, the founder and editor-in-chief of Chasing Shadows Magazine. I am a twenty-one-year-old literature student and writer. This magazine started as a tiny impetus to let out my literary interests. Now it has become my passion project. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and I am currently doing my post-graduation. I have quite a few experiences as an editor and writer for other literary spaces and zines. I love to get lost within books, fill the pages of my journals with perpetual thoughts, and wake up to a piping hot cup of ginger tea. When not doing these, I would travel alone to faraway places in search of aesthetic pleasures or stay at home arranging my bookshelf.

My interests in the literary and the arts flared up in school. I chose writing as my choice of expression, thanks to my English teacher who found out my caliber. I remember writing essays and compering speeches just minutes before the actual program (that's when my anxiety reaches its peak!). Fortunately, I had several opportunities to share my literary pursuits. I learned, excelled in some, but also lost in quite a few. That said, I am also aware of how several others still strive for a chance to share their creations and voice. I am aware of how it feels to hold a talent but wait for the right time and place to expose it. As my contribution to a field I love and for all the opportunities I received, I decided to create this platform. I firmly believe that words and art have the power to create a revolution. And this magazine is dedicated to all those who believe in the same.
